Realtors in Sacramento Create “Can-Tree” to Help Feed the Hungry

In an incredible act of community service, realtors in Sacramento have come together to build a “can-tree” to provide food for those in need. This initiative, in partnership with the Salvation Army, has been a tradition for the past 40 years, and this year’s effort has raised $18,000 worth of canned goods to feed approximately 3,000 people a month.

Building a Can-Tree for a Cause

Since September, the Sacramento Association of Realtors has been collecting donations for the Salvation Army to purchase pallets of canned food. With the help of dedicated volunteers, the realtors have now successfully built a can-tree, a structure made entirely of cans, at Capital City Honda. The can-tree is a wonderful example of what dedicated service can achieve and demonstrates the importance of volunteering time and talents to help those in need.

40 Years of Tradition and Counting

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the can-tree initiative, a testament to the commitment and passion of the realtors and volunteers involved. While the collections for this year’s can-tree have come to an end, the initiative will undoubtedly continue in the coming years, making a difference in the lives of those in need in the Sacramento area.

Community Involvement: A Key Component of Realtor Success

While realtors are often associated with buying and selling properties, they also play a vital role in building and supporting their communities. By participating in initiatives like the can-tree project, realtors demonstrate their commitment to improving the lives of those around them and fostering a sense of community spirit.
