Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive: Helping Local Families in Need

Every year, during November and December, the Chiefs organization focuses on hunger relief as part of their outreach efforts. They have partnered with Harvesters – Community Food Network, Hy-Vee, and CommunityAmerica Credit Union to create the Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive. This initiative aims to provide food donations for local families in need with the help of the community.

Kickoff Celebration: Assembling Holiday Meal Boxes

To celebrate the start of the annual Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive, members of the Chiefs Community Caring Team will join representatives from Harvesters and Hy-Vee. Together, they will assemble holiday meal boxes with the first donated items for the food drive.

Official Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive Day: December 31

On December 31, the Chiefs’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals will serve as the official Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive day at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. For the third consecutive year, all food drive donations at the stadium will be monetary only – no boxed or canned food items will be collected outside the stadium gates. Fans attending the game are encouraged to donate by scanning the QR code displayed by volunteers as they enter the stadium gates.

How to Donate if You’re Not Attending the Game

Fans who are not attending the final home game of the season or those who wish to make a monetary donation to the Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive before the official Food Drive game can visit www.chiefs.com/fooddrive. Local area Hy-Vee stores will also accept non-perishable food donations through Sunday, December 31, as part of the food drive.

Impact of the Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive

Last year, the Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive resulted in more than 207,000 meals being donated to food-insecure neighbors throughout Chiefs Kingdom. Throughout the history of the program, over 2.2 million meals have been generated locally.
