13th Annual Strawberry Swing Holiday Spring Moves to Crown Center in Kansas City

The Strawberry Swing Holiday Spring, now in its 13th year, has moved to a new location in Kansas City’s holiday hotspot, Crown Center. The event provides a platform for small businesses to showcase their goods and services during the holiday season, offering unique shopping experiences for local residents and visitors alike.

Supporting Small Businesses and Local Makers

Marie Tucker, a representative of Messner Bee Farm, emphasized the importance of events like the Strawberry Swing Holiday Spring for small businesses. With the shift from Black Friday to Small Business Saturday and the upcoming Cyber Monday, local businesses rely on such events to generate sales and maintain their presence in the community.

Unique Shopping Experience at Crown Center

Several local stores are participating in the event, displaying their goods at Crown Center. Tucker noted that the snowfall added to the festive atmosphere, making the event even more enjoyable for visitors. Some vendors, like Stacey Gibson of Eden’s Accessories, traveled over 150 miles to set up their tents, offering small-batch leather goods from Joplin, Missouri.

Encouraging Local Support and a Sense of Community

Both Tucker and Gibson expressed their appreciation for the support from local shoppers, noting that the event helps create a sense of community while also providing financial support for small businesses. Gibson, a stay-at-home mom, explained that the income generated from the event helps her family pay bills, buy books and clothes for their children, and cover school expenses.

The Holiday Swing at Crown Center is open on Fridays from 4-9 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the holiday season. For more information about the event, visit the Facebook event page.
