A Career in Real Estate and Restoration
Throughout her career, Fox has sold over 250 houses, and her love for real estate and restoration began in her childhood when her parents bought and restored three houses. Raised in Cumberland, Fox spent her summers in Harpswell with her grandparents and later graduated from the University of Maine.
Passionate about Horses and Sailing
Debi Fox is not only an accomplished real estate professional but also has a passion for horses and sailing. She has been riding horses since she was 11 years old and has participated in horse shows all over New England. In addition, she is an avid sailor, having helped deliver a sailboat from the Portland Yacht Club to Coconut Grove in Florida after graduating from college.
Returning to Maine and Diving into Real Estate
After living in Florida and Boston for a while, Fox returned to Maine and opened her own business, Fox’s Glass Works, in Damariscotta in the 1980s. After selling her successful business 20 years later, she decided to dive right into real estate, with her designated broker stating that she was the best “rookie” he had ever had.
Restoring and Rebuilding Houses
Fox’s husband is a retired builder with historic ties to the area. The couple has restored and rebuilt their home in Damariscotta and two cottages on the Kennebec River, which they enjoy and use as rentals. Currently, they are in the process of restoring her husband’s childhood home on the Eastern River. Fox’s extensive knowledge and experience in restoring and rebuilding houses bring a tremendous asset to her clients.
Awards and Achievements
Debi Fox is a member of the National Association of Realtors and has served on the board of directors of the Maine Association of Realtors for several years. She is also the former president of the Lincoln County Board of Realtors. In 2010, she was honored with the Realtor of the Year award.
Life in Lincoln County
Having lived in Lincoln County for 40 years, Fox enjoys various activities such as kayaking, sailing, gardening, skiing, photography, and painting folk art. These hobbies provide a perfect balance in her life and contribute to her love for Maine.
