Overland Park Welcomes New, Larger Whole Foods Location

Residents of Overland Park, Kansas, can now enjoy an even bigger and better shopping experience as the new Whole Foods location is set to open its doors this week. The natural and organic foods chain is relocating to the Overland Crossing shopping center, with the grand opening scheduled for 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

Exciting Opening Day Offers

To celebrate the opening, Whole Foods will be offering local samples, free coffee, and live music on the first day. In addition, the first 300 customers in line will receive a tote bag and a coupon with offers up to $100 off. The new store will operate daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Bigger Store, More Amenities

The new location at 11900 Metcalf Ave. is over 10,000 square feet larger than the previous store at 6621 W. 119th St., according to the company. Shoppers can expect an upgraded coffee bar, increased seating both inside and outside, and an expanded prepared foods section featuring sushi, self-serve pizza, and made-to-order sandwiches.

Local Products Take Center Stage

Whole Foods will also showcase more than 750 items from the Kansas City metro area, including chocolates from Christopher Elbow, chips and tortillas from Yoli Tortilleria, grass-fed beef from Redger Farms, and craft beer from Free State Brewing Company. This highlights the company’s commitment to supporting local businesses and offering customers a wide variety of regional products.

Overland Crossing Development Continues to Grow

The new Whole Foods location is part of the Overland Crossing development, which also includes a new Nordstrom Rack store, Five Below, Golf Galaxy, and Burlington. This growing shopping center offers a diverse range of retail options for local residents and visitors alike.

Old Whole Foods Location to Become PGA Tour Superstore

As for the previous Whole Foods location in Overland Park, the Kansas City Star reports that it will be transformed into a PGA Tour Superstore, selling golf gear and other sports apparel. This will be the company’s first location in the Kansas City area, bringing a new shopping experience to the community.
