Whole Harvest Kitchen: Your New Go-To Healthy Spot in Leawood

Hey Leawood, Get Ready for Tasty, Healthy Eats!

Good news for Johnson County folks! Whole Harvest Kitchen, a super cool plant-based eatery, has opened its doors in Leawood. It all started as a meal delivery service back in 2018, and now they’ve got their first real-life location at 4853 W. 117th St. You’ll find it on the east side of Town Center Plaza, right next to the GNC store.

When to Go and What to Chow Down On

Whole Harvest Kitchen is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Their menu is all about “whole food” stuff like hummus bowls, Mediterranean salads, jackfruit pizzas, and veggie dumplings. Got a sweet tooth? They’ve got you covered with chocolate fudge cake, dark chocolate truffles, and banana “nice cream.” Keep an eye out for grab-and-go options like wraps and salads coming soon.

Everything on the menu is plant-based and oil-free, kinda like the Blue Zone diet. Plus, they get a bunch of their ingredients from local Kansas and Missouri producers. Nice, right?

Meet the Chef: Will Harris

Executive Chef Will Harris has a personal reason for being all about the plant-based life at Whole Harvest Kitchen. After he started eating mostly plants, his health got way better. His fave dishes at the restaurant are the sourdough pizzas and anything with mushrooms, like the K.C. Barbecue Plate with jackfruit and barbecue mushrooms.

What’s Next for Whole Harvest Kitchen?

The plan is to open more Whole Harvest Kitchen spots in Johnson County and all over the country. They’re not trying to be just for vegans, but to serve up awesome food that happens to be vegan. Chef Harris thinks that having plant-based meals once or twice a week can help people get into healthier eating habits.
