Whole Harvest Kitchen: A Fresh & Healthy Spot in Leawood

Whole Harvest Kitchen, a new plant-based eatery, has opened in Leawood, Johnson County. It started as a meal delivery service in 2018, and now it’s at 4853 W. 117th St., in the Town Center Plaza shopping center, next to GNC.

Hours & Tasty Menu Options

Whole Harvest Kitchen is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. The menu has whole food items like hummus bowls, Mediterranean salads, jackfruit pizzas, and vegetable dumplings. Plus, sweet treats like chocolate fudge cake, dark chocolate truffles, and “nice cream” (made from bananas). They plan to add grab-and-go options like wraps and salads too.

All menu items are plant-based and oil-free, like the Blue Zone diet. Many ingredients come from Kansas and Missouri, showing the restaurant’s support for local producers.

Executive Chef’s Personal Connection

Will Harris, the executive chef at Whole Harvest Kitchen, has a personal reason for the plant-based focus. After going mostly plant-based, Harris saw big improvements in his health. His favorite menu items are the sourdough pizzas and mushroom dishes, like the K.C. Barbecue Plate with jackfruit and barbecue mushrooms.

Future Expansion Plans

Whole Harvest Kitchen plans to open more restaurants in Johnson County and across the country. The goal is not to be just a vegan restaurant, but a place with great food that’s also vegan. Harris thinks eating plant-based meals once or twice a week can lead to healthier eating habits.
