EquipmentShare Expands to Moberly: A New Location and Job Opportunities
EquipmentShare, a Columbia-based construction equipment company, is opening a new location in Moberly, Missouri. This marks the company’s seventh location in the state, and it is expected to employ around 150 people once fully operational, with an average salary of $46,000.
Ribbon Cutting and Open House Event
During a recent ribbon cutting and open house event, EquipmentShare CEO Jabbok Schlacks praised the available workforce in the area. Schlacks said, “There’s really a skilled labor. There’s people that are intelligent, people that actually know how to do things. So we can speed up, we can get going right off the bat. It helps us do our jobs better.” He compared the teamwork needed for success to a sports team, where everyone must do their part to achieve victory.
Other Locations and Expansion Efforts
In addition to the new Moberly location, EquipmentShare has locations in St. Louis, Springfield, Kansas City, Joplin, and Cape Girardeau. Randy Asbury, president of the Moberly Area Economic Development Corporation, shared that efforts to bring EquipmentShare to Moberly began early last year. The expansion has a price tag of approximately $46 million.
Asbury noted the collaboration between EquipmentShare, local efforts, state-level efforts, and even federal-level efforts to make this expansion happen. He said, “A lot of effort went into making this happen particularly on EquipmentShare’s part, of course. But also on local efforts, state level efforts in regard to local and state incentives, and even on the federal level to make this process occur today.”
Manufacturing at the New Location
Brian Adams, the site manager for the new Moberly location, revealed that it will manufacture parts and attachments for the company’s equipment. Amy Susan, EquipmentShare’s communications manager, added that the company already has about 40 people working at the site, with more to come after new manufacturing equipment is in place.
EquipmentShare’s Growth
EquipmentShare started with just five people in 2015 and has since grown to employ more than 4,800 people nationwide. The company’s expansion to Moberly represents not only a significant investment in the area but also a testament to its ongoing growth and success in the construction equipment industry.
